Not all the days are when you have luxury of time to hand to do elaborate cooking and at that time all you wish is quick recipe, but you do not wish to eat that million calories Pizza from a take away, nor you wish to survive on sandwich. Here comes this handy “honey garlic prawns”, which offers goodness of prawns and is ready in less than 20 mins. Serve with plain steamed rice or with bread of your choice.
“Dal Bukhara” ( दाल बुखारा ) is a velvety smooth slow cooked black lentil simmered in a tomato based gravy. The world famous Bukhara restaurant of ITC Maurya in Delhi serves the best dal Bukhara. Their Dal Bukhara is just ultimate. I had always fancied trying this at ITC Bukhara (from where this dal originated) ever since I learnt about this dal and I got a chance to try this dal in my recent trip to india.
Have you been to Nandos? Though mostly known for its peri peri lip smacking chicken recipes. It is one of my favourite food joint too. I like the veg options there, whilst my family feasts on chicken. Immaterial of what we eat as main course, whole family loves Nandos corn on the cobs. This led me to explore (and experiment) doing something similar and make nandos style corn on the cobs.
Pav Bhaji (पाव भाजी) is a spicy curry of mixed vegetables (bhaji) cooked in a special blend of spices and served with soft buttered pav (white rolls slightly toasted with butter). It is any Indian food lover’s dream to have it hot with a piece of buttery shallow fried bun and some chopped onions.
For paneer lovers, Kadai Paneer (कडाही पनीर) probably will be in top 5 paneer dishes. This is a common north-indian dish, however origin of Kadai Paneer is debated, some say it originated from south, in any case, it tastes delicious so just enjoy 🙂 Kadai paneer is the combination of paneer, onion and colourful bell peppers, in a with spicy tomato based gravy and aromatic spices.
