Degustabox Review – September 2019

October is on now, and I can feel chill in the air. Schools have re-opened and days are getting shorter. Ahh…I crave for British summer…but its a long wait for it…good news is that at least one thing keeps coming every month. This is my Degustabox. I got September box delivered around 17th Sept and those of you follow me on Instagram would know how I have been busy. I have finally got some time to share my thoughts on the contents of September box from Degustabox.

The Review

It was a timely delivery (and no delays like what happened in August). I was kept well informed of the delivery and DHL delivered the box just at the specified time in cleanly packaged box.

Below is the detailed review of contents of the box in no defined sequence.

Hartley’s Jelly Pots

Box contained 3 strawberry jelly pots. It was good to find these in the box, as my daughter loves jelly and in handy small packs its great for snacks in lunch. Each pot is priced at £0.55 and which I felt was ok, of course one may find it cheaper if doing a bulk buy from super stores.

Alpen Protein Bar

In this September box, I found two bars from Alpen. One was berries and yogurt, and other was chocolate. I personally don’t fancy these bars but we are a family with varied taste. These bars were loved by my partner and daughter. Perfect to fuel up when in hurry (which is what we all are these days). These are priced at £2.69 for pack of 5 bars, making them just about 53p per bar, not bad actually!

Milkybar Buttons

Finding these milkybar buttons in the box was good news and bad news both. Good news because we love them, bad news because we have got these in past too, and would love to see new products. Tasty tiny buttons are hit between the family and were gone in minutes. Priced at £0.55, think its ok.

Appy Kids Co. Yummy Bakes

These yummy bakes were new for us. Made from real fruits and fibre rich, I was happy to give to my daughter as snack post school. She liked it too…so it was a winner. Happy to have found this in the box. These are also available at TJ Morris.

Eisberg Alcohold free Rose

In the September box, there was no alcoholic item. This rose was non-alcoholic too. This was good news in a way for me as I am personally not an alcohol person. The bursting flavours of cherry and strawberry hit my tastebuds at the right place. The bottle is priced at only £4.00 and I felt it was great price! It seems the calorie content is fairly low too. Yes, from me for this 🙂

Chum Fruit Bites

Chum fruity bites! I think I have tasted them before too, courtesy Degustabox in one of prior boxes. Yes, I do like them. These real fruit bites are lovely to munch anytime, be it whilst sitting on cough watching Netflix or as late afternoon munch. These are vegan and gluten free too. I got two packs, one of berry and other of peach. Priced at £0.79 individually, little pricy for my liking, but I suppose good things comes with a price tag 😉

Boka Cereal Bar

Very much familiar with Boka bars. Got couple of these bars in September box. These bars are low in sugar, salt, fats and less than 100Cals per bar. So that’s all good. Again, something which I was able to use a “on the go munchy”. £0.79 for a single bar or £2.00 for a pack of 4. I will recommend buying pack of 4.

Riso Gallo

Risotto experts! That’s the name which comes to my mind when I head “Riso Gallo”. The rice which was in the box was used by me for making Risotto and it did not disappoint. The pack is marked at the RRP of £2.29 and is available in major supermarkets. If you making risotto, I will recommend Riso Gallo for sure.

Lucozade Zero

Loved both the bottles of Lucozade, Orange and Pink. My personal favourite is pink, the same refreshing taste and boosting energy with zero Cal. I used these after my brisk walks and it was able to quench my thirst. Each bottle costs £1.99 which is probably little on higher side. I will still recommend for all those who are lucozade lover, give it a go!

Epicure Pesto

I got Chermoula Pesto in the box, and it was good find. I normally use pesto in my grilled sandwiches and this pesto did not disappoint either. Great taste! This pesto can be used as dip too (though I did not use it). The jar costs £2.99 and is available in Ocado and Farm shops. Will I buy it on my own? Probably yes if I find it easily on an aisle.

Very Lazy Garlic Paste

Perfect ingredient for my cooking. I used this garlic paste in my curries and I was able to get the desired garlic taste. Yes, I am happy with this garlic paste. The tube costs £1.85, personally I will say price is about right, though will happily accept it for less.
